Accountant – Year End

£29,600–£37,000 | Hybrid (1 day in office) | Manchester (M3) or Stokenchurch (HP14)

We’re hiring a trainee/apprentice accountant for our Year End function.

This is role is ideal for someone who has a couple of year’s experience and is looking for more client contact.

You will have support from your peers, an Assistant Manager and Senior Manager.

  • Company Accounts – FRS 105 and 102(1A)
  • Company CT600
  • Partnership Accounts
  • Sole-trader accounts
  • Self-Assessments
  • Confirmation statements
  • Profit extraction support

The opportunity

You will prepare and file accounts and returns for your manager’s review. You will contact client’s directly with supervision and support from your manager. This role is best suited for someone that is looking for the next step in their training career, whilst retaining the support of a manager.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and filing annual accounts and returns
  • Ensuring the internal deadlines and tasks are met for your portfolio
  • Liaising with a portfolio of clients

This is a semi-senior for a person who is looking to develop their client communication skills.

What we are looking for

Essential:

  • 2-5 years practice experience
  • Confident drafting sole-trader and Micro accounts
  • Ability to manage workflow, prioritisation and capacity
  • Bring positive values to the team

You will not be suitable if:

  • You have not yet had any client contact
  • You have no practice experience (i.e. industry, public or charity)
  • You do not intend to study ACCA / ACA

We are looking for someone who can develop through their exams and progress into managing their own portfolio.

Working pattern

  • Hybrid: 1 day per week in office
  • Manchester (M3 2BY) or Stokenchurch (HP14 3FE)
  • Flexitime
  • Must live within 60-minute commute
  • Valid UK driving licence

Salary

£29,600–£37,000 depending on experience and exams passed. Giving you the clear progression as you continue through your exams.
