We’re hiring an Assistant Manager for our Year End function.
This is role is ideal for someone who has had experience managing a small team or a senior individual that has experience reviewing juniors work.
You will report directly to the Senior Manager and be a key part of the growth of the team.

The opportunity
You will manage a team of 2-5 junior accountants. Your salary will depend on the number of team members you are capable of managing, giving you the opportunity to become a senior manager once you are confident managing a team of 5.
You will be responsible for:
- Reviewing year-end accounts and returns, business and personal
- Assisting the senior Manager with team performance, quality and capacity
- Onboarding of new clients into the year-end function
- Ensuring tasks are met to our internal deadlines
- Ensuring monthly financial targets are met
- Improving systems and workflow optimisation
- Acting as escalation point for complex technical and client matters
- Being a role model for the junior members of the team
This is a leadership role with accountability — not just technical sign-off.
What we are looking for
Essential:
- ACA / ACCA qualified
- 4+ years’ practice experience
- Proven experience managing and developing junior staff
- Strong review experience across year end accounts and corporation tax
- Ability to manage workflow, prioritisation and team capacity
You will not be suitable if:
- You have not previously reviewed junior work
- You prefer purely technical work without leadership responsibility
- You are not confident liaising with clients

Salary
£45,000–£55,000 depending on size of the team and your capabilities.
The role is ideal for a training manager as the team will grow over time, giving you the ability to develop your management skills whilst the team grows.
